Hey Everybody,
I just received a wonderful thank you note from one of our Girl Talk: Reel Girls, Reel Life finalists, Kerri Kehl. I was really moved by this letter and would like to share it with you. Kerri is truly an amazing girl. She works hard to be a positive role model to younger girls by encouraging them to make the right decisions about alcohol and lead a healthy lifestyle. Her commercial idea entry entitled “Hard Year” for the Reel Girls, Reel Life contest is just one example of a healthy and positive message that she has modeled. I’m not the only one who notices her talent, though – she was interviewed and written up in her local Arizona news for her awesome work! (Click here to check out just some of the coverage she got). Way to go, Kerri!
Check out her note:
Hey Katie and all of the Girl Talk and Century Council members,
This is Kerri Kehl, one of the Girl Talk Real Girls, Real Life contest finalists. I wanted to thank all of you so much for this wonderful experience. I was babysitting when my mom called me and told me that I was a semi-finalist in the contest. I was so excited! And then I found out I was a finalist when I was on a trip in Michigan. While we were there a local Tucson newspaper and various news stations were calling for interviews! It made me feel very important. I love to act and I am trying to start modeling, and I want to be a good role model for younger girls, so that was a great opportunity. And then a couple days ago I got an awesome package from Girl Talk with a check for $500! Thanks so much! I gave $100 to each of the girls that helped produce my commercial (they say thank you too). Overall, I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you.
The contest was a blast!
Thanks Girl Talk!
Kerri Kehl, age 15 Tucson, AZ
Kerri, the thanks should really be aimed towards you! Thank YOU for being a voice to help fight underage drinking and promote a healthy lifestyle among young women like yourself. Your hard work and dedication makes a real difference. You’re a true superstar – keep it up!
As for me, I’m going away to visit my family for the holidays, so I won’t be posting again until 2008! Have a wonderful New Years, everyone!
That’s all for now,
