The summer is sadly winding down and with its demise comes the start of yet another school year. Heading back to school doesn’t have to be all bad though, this week, give yourself something that will make you excited to hit the halls again. A new school year is a blank slate, a great chance to start fresh, get back in touch with friends, or join a new club. Make the most of this new year by starting it off with a new look. New year, new you! Why not?

Try getting a new haircut or buying a new outfit, something a little outside your usual repertoire. If you want a more economical approach, have your friends style your hair in a different way, or rethinking the way you do your make-up. Everything is better with friends, so make a night of it! Have your friends bring over makeup and hair styling supplies and take turns giving each other new looks.

It’s better to try this idea a few weeks before school starts so you can practice and perfect your look for the first day back at class! Be careful though, we’ve all seen our fair share of makeover disasters…you should’ve seen me when I decided to give bangs a try…yikes! Anyhow, only do what you’re comfortable with, and make sure to get permission from your parents if you want to do something super-drastic.
